First Impressions: Big! Compared to its big brother the VTX1800 this bike maybe small but on its own this bike stands out. At 64.5” long and a seat height of 27.4, the VTX has a substantial feel while riding. This bike #9-4599 has loads of extras as well. There is a mustang seat, bags, a removable bag strapped to the tank as well as after market exhaust.
Seating: This VTX, as I wrote above, comes with a Mustang seat already installed. But for those of you with a larger seat, like myself, you may not find this seat comfortable for you. But with our parts department only a few steps away, it would not be hard to find a new one. While riding the VTX1300 you will enjoy wider handle bars for easy turning, a wide gas tank that holds 4.8 gallons of fuel and enough room on the back seat to have a passenger ride with you on your journey.

Power: The VTX1300 has a large 1312cc, liquid-cooled, carbureted power plant. It’s a V-twin with digital ignition and 3 dimensional mapping. The engine also sports 2 spark plugs per cylinder for a more efficient burn, increased power output and increased fuel economy.
Handling: Although the VTX1300 is a large bike, it feels great to me while riding. I am a bigger guy and this bike fits me perfectly. Hence, this is the reason I own one. The power off the line is terrific and with dual disk brakes this baby will also stop on a dime.

Verdict: 7.6 The VTX1300 is a great bike for someone that is looking to upgrade. I would never recommend a bike larger than a 750 for a beginner, but the power of this bike is easily manageable with a formal class on motorcycle safety and a good head on your shoulders. I personally like this bike, And I plan on enjoying it for years to come.
